Mitokine Bioscience is currently enrolling dogs with naturally-occurring diabetes to participate in a study replenishing an amino acid lost due to the disease pathology.

Mitokine Scientists have shown that this amino acid can stimulate new insulin producing cells to grow. The working hypothesis is that restoring it in the setting of diabetes could reduce the need for insulin by injection.
